16,200 Students, 44 Schools, and One New Website
With that many students and schools, Elk Island Public Schools has a lot of information that needs to be on their website. Using a traditional website all that information, and all the changes to it, would filter through the various departments and end up on the desk of just a few individuals that knew how to make the changes. This meant changes could take a long time and information could become stale.
Enter Web Guide
Web Guide is our custom-built Content Management System, or CMS for short, and it is a perfect fit for the new Elk Island Public Schools website. It's a web-based application that allows Elk Island Public Schools staff to login from any computer and with just a few clicks they can add, edit, or delete text, pages or whole sections from their website. In one short training period people from all the departments of Elk Island Public Schools were trained on the system and were immediately adding their department's content to the site. The best part is that not one person needs to learn specialized web software such as Dreamweaver.
The website CMS system has been well received by staff because it is so simple and user-friendly.

So Many Documents
Elk Island Public Schools has a lot of documents that need to be on the website. Registration Forms, Calendars, Policies, Board Minutes, and so much more. Box Clever designed a very simple to navigate and manage Documents section where they can all be stored and easily accessed by site visitors.
What Else?
There are lots of little extras on the new site. The home page automatically lists the newest job postings and organizes them nicely in tabbed panels. Every page on the site has a quick link menu to jump directly to any one of the District's 44 school's websites. (Coincidentally we are currently in the process of re-designing all 44 school websites.) There's also a Google Custom Search on every page. Oh, and a new banner photo loads up each time you visit the site.
