gravitypope is an independently owned Canadian boutique providing an extensive selection of hand-picked designer footwear, clothing, and accessories from all over the world. Over the past two decades, gravitypope has become a fashion institution, with clothing and footwear stores in Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, and Vancouver.

In 2015, gravitypope was looking to overhaul their ecommerce platform. Known as a trendsetter and market leader, their website needed to reflect their brand, attitude, and style. But trendsetting isn’t enough, the online shopping experience needed to be flawless.

Having dealt with other ecommerce solutions in the past and having endured some headaches associated with those particular solutions, gravitypope wanted to ensure their customers had the best possible online shopping experience, free from bugs, performance issues, and uptime problems. Box Clever was able to deliver on both fronts.

Our designers worked closely with gravitypope staff to craft an online shopping experience that felt like gravitypope. With painstaking detail, each page was developed with the customer in mind. As a Shopify partner, Box Clever was able to rely on Shopify’s platform to deliver a terrific experience for gravitypope customers and also give gravitypope staff the tools they needed to manage their online store.

Not only was Box Clever able to design something beautiful, we were able to deliver a highly innovative solution from a technical perspective. During the initial rollout of the site, we took thousands of products from the previous ecommerce platform and migrated them to gravitypope’s new Shopify site. The process involved hours of data manipulation and scripting to get it exactly right. After the initial launch, Box Clever then worked on building a custom integration between gravitypope’s in-store inventory management system and Shopify. The integration will update the online store with inventory levels from each physical location, ensuring that customers online will only purchase products that gravitypope knows they can deliver.

The complexities and technical challenges involved were significant, but this is the type of project where Box Clever thrives. We have a team of experts, in both design and programming, that collaborate to build websites that not only look stunning, but also have the technical prowess that will ensure the best online experience.
