Bartle & Gibson, now Western Canada's leading independent distributor of plumbing, heating, and electrical supplies, got its start in BC in the early 1940's. By focusing on relationships with vendors, customers, and employees Bartle & Gibson has grown into a large network of branches, warehouses, and showrooms that services all of Western Canada.
About the Project
The old Bartle & Gibson website was a collection of static html pages, and updating the site had become painful for even the most seasoned staff member. We built custom modules that are database driven to make the massive amount of content on the Bartle & Gibson website easily updatable, with search and filter functions that work on mobile and desktop.
Box Clever was able to create an effective online marketing tool for Bartle & Gibson built with a solid and easy-to-use content management system. Website updates, which used to take upwards of an hour to perform, now happen in just minutes. Where our previous website would cripple visitors with long load times and impossible to navigate pages bartlegibson.com now offers much faster loading and straight-forward navigation. It's only been two months since our website went live and already we are seeing an increase in website visits from Google searches and online directories. We look forward to continuing work with Box Clever to grow our online presence. Their team is easy to understand and great at what they do.

Bartle & Gibson's website is designed to be flexible, which means that promotions, pages, and even the carousel can easily be turned on our off depending on what's going on at the many branches and showrooms. Navigation has been streamlined as well, making it faster and easier for users to find what they're looking.
The many locations, showrooms, and warehouses that Bartle & Gibson operates are now searchable. Each branch can upload information about events specific to their location, as well as add photographs and images! Visitors can also book an appointment right from the showrooms page, even from their mobile!
Bartle & Gibson keeps an extensive database of their many suppliers (208 to be exact), and when taking into account the number of products each supplier carries, the information quickly becomes overwhelming! To make it easy to stay on top of all this information we created a database driven module that allows visitors to search through all the vendors and their products on one page, and makes uploading new information a one-step process for staff.
Searching and filtering, map integration, appointment booking and content display, all of these custom functions are available on visitors' mobile devices. Full site functionality is available to visitors on the go thanks to responsive design - and the site navigation still makes everything easy to find.
